The IPL 2024 is going on in full swing and from batters to bowlers, no one is leaving a single opportunity to show their impact on this game. Dinesh Karthik who is playing his last season of the IPL, has shown some good hitting in this edition, especially in the match against SRH where he scored 83 off just 35 balls which includes seven sixes and five fours.
Bengaluru had to chase down a tough target of 288 runs, the highest-ever IPL score of 287/3. However, Karthik’s outstanding performance almost led Bengaluru to victory. Despite RCB ultimately not reaching the target and ending at 262/7, Karthik’s knock was impressive and earned applause from the Bengaluru crowd.
Ambati Rayudu who is also a very close friend of Dinesh Karthik is impressed with his batting abilities. Rayudu claimed that DK is the second most dangerous batter in the lower order after MS Dhoni.
While having a conversation at Star Sports, Rayudu said, “He is batting in the lower order, and you hardly get time to settle down at this position. You have to play your shots just after arriving at the crease, which DK did today. He is the most dangerous batter after MS Dhoni in the death overs when scoring important runs for the franchise. He has looked in great touch for RCB, and his form is the most significant positive for them.”
He further added, “I think he should be considered for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 as his experience will be handy on the slow tracks of the West Indies and the United States of America.”
