One of the greatest all-rounders, Ravichandran Ashwin, is all set to represent India for the 100th time in the longest format of the game as Team India is all set to take on England for the final time in this series.
Ashwin became the second Indian bowler to pick up 500 wickets in test matches, becoming the second Indian after Anil Kumble to do so. Ashwin picked his 500th test wicket in Rajkot.
Ashwin also went past Kumble as he became the leading spinner for India to pick up 350 wickets at home.
Ashwin became the 9th bowler in test matches to pick up 500 wickets, becoming only the fifth spinner after Muralitharan,Shane Warne,Anil Kumble, and Nathan Lyon.
Ahead of the fifth test match, Team India’s former captain and prince of Bangal, Sourav Ganguly, was all praise for Ravi Ashwin. He also praised Ravindra Jadeja, calling him the best all-rounder at present.
In his recent interaction, Ganguly said, “All-time great, all-time great offspring. 500 wickets is not a matter of joke. Then you have Jadeja, the best all-rounder at the moment. Bat and ball in these conditions.”.
The fifth test between the two sides is going to start on March 7 in Dharamshala.
Team India has already won the five-match test series and is currently leading the series by a margin of 3-1.
