Aaron Finch blasts over Rajat Patidar for throwing his wicket away against KKR

Former T20 World Cup-winning captain Aaron Finch said that Rajat Patidar should have been a bit more patient in RCB’s clash against KKR.

Rajat Patidar, who was well set after scoring his second fifty of the season, got out to Andre Russell in order to keep the tempo going in chase of RCB. In the same over, Will Jakes, another set batter, got dismissed by Andre Russell in an attempt to put pressure on KKR.
Aaron Finch believes that Rajat Patidar should have played a bit more patiently before playing his shots.

In his interaction with Star Sports, Aaron Finch said, “He had to make sure that he batted 2 to 3 overs deeper for RCB to have a batter who is in. Yes, we have seen some huge scores, and we have seen guys walking out and trying to smack the ball out of the park from ball one. But there has to be a strategy behind it as well.”

Finch further added, “You can’t be walking out and throwing wickets away, particularly in batters. It’s hard enough to get in, especially on a surface like that where the ball was holding enough and spinners were having an impact. Patidar needed to chill out for maybe 4 or 5 balls, get to the next over, and then reassess. But you can’t afford to have two batters get out in the same over.”

RCB have lost seven matches out of the eight they have played this season. They will be up against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 25.
