The IPL is back for its 18th season in 2025! All 10 teams are ready to battle it out for the top spot, and everyone’s watching Mumbai Indians, who’ve won the thing five times before.
Last year wasn’t so hot for Mumbai under Hardik Pandya – they ended up at the bottom of the list. But they’ve got a fresh team now, so they’re looking to bounce back this time.
Before the season starts, Aakash Chopra, who used to play cricket for India, shared his dream team lineup for Mumbai Indians in the 2025 IPL.
It’s tough to find a better group of 11 or 12 players than what they’ve got. They’ve got amazing players. You could start with Rohit Sharma, then Ryan Rickelton and Will Jacks – if you want to play both of them – followed by Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Hardik Pandya. And Naman Dhir would still be waiting! They’ve got crazy depth, said Chopra in a video on his YouTube channel.
Looking at their bowlers, there’s Deepak Chahar, Trent Boult, and Jasprit Bumrah. Can you find a better group of three for the Wankhede pitch, where the ball zips around a bit and wickets fall early on? They’ve got the best choices. For spin, they have Mitchell Santner and Mujeeb Ur Rahman. So, their top 12 is awesome, Chopra added.
Mumbai Indians definitely have some huge stars on their squad. With guys like Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Tilak Varma, Jasprit Bumrah, and tons of other talent, MI is seen as a top favorite for the 2025 IPL.
Heads up, Mumbai Indians will start their IPL 2025 season against Chennai Super Kings. The two teams will go head-to-head in the third game of the competition at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on March 23.
