Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra has given the statement that Hardik Pandya is a different captain for Gujarat Titans in association with Ashish Nehra but when it comes to team India, Hardik still needs to work on him.
Hardik successfully guided the Titans to victory in the previous IPL season and secured a place in the finals this year. While he had a promising beginning as the T20I captain for the Indian team, he has faced some serious criticism for his leadership during the recent series defeat against the West Indies.
While talking to his official Youtube Channel, Chopra said that Hardik Pandya is a successful captain in IPL due to Ashish Nehra.
Aakash Chopra said,”He could be the Indian team’s captain in the 2024 T20 World Cup. In captaincy, at the moment it seems like he is a work in progress. He has won the Gujarat Titans the title once and took them to the final once.”
The former Indian opener added,”He has captained in only two seasons and captained amazingly well in both years. When he captains that side, there is a clear pattern. It’s all almost predictable. You got surprised one or two times but other than that, you couldn’t have found a mistake in his captaincy. Maybe it was the combo pack of him and Ashish Nehra.”
