‘A Captain Cannot Bat With The…’, Irfan Pathan Criticized Hardik Pandya For MI’s Loss Against SRH

In a thrilling game played between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad, the Orange Army won the match by 31 runs. While chasing the target of 278 runs by Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians showed a superb batting display and managed to get 246 runs at the loss of five wickets.

Meanwhile, the former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has spoken for the skipper of Mumbai Hardik Pandya, and criticized his batting tactics while chasing the huge target of 278 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday, March 27th.

In their second match of the ongoing IPL season, Mumbai Indians faced a 31-run defeat against SRH. Despite a target of 278, Mumbai Indians could only manage 246/5 against SunRisers Hyderabad’s bowling attack. Hardik Pandya received criticism from fans and experts for his subdued approach in batting, as he scored just 24 off 20 balls while chasing a mammoth target.

While putting his view on the official X handle(now Twitter), Irfan Pathaan said that Hardik Pandya cannot afford to bat that slowly when the team needs firepower from him.

“If the whole team is playing with a strike of 200, the Captain can’t bat with the batting strike rate of 120.”

In another tweet, the former Indian all-rounder criticized Hardik Pandya’s captaincy, particularly questioning his decision to refrain from utilizing Jasprit Bumrah in the bowling attack when Mumbai Indians faced challenges, notably after Heinrich Klaasen and Aiden Markram wreaked havoc in the middle-order.

“The captaincy of Hardik Pandya has been ordinary, to say the least. Keeping Bumrah away for too long when the carnage was on was beyond my understanding.” Irfan Pathan wrote on X.
