A Big Decision Taken In The Rape Case Against Dhanushka Gunathilaka, Check When Will Back On Field

During the T20 World Cup played in Australia last year, Sri Lankan team captain Dhanushka Gunathilaka was arrested in Sydney. It was alleged that the captain of the neighboring country raped a woman. Now Dhanushka has got a significant relief in this matter. A case was registered in a total of four points.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald news, he has been relieved in three cases. Three charges have been dropped.

It was told that Dhanushka Gunatilaka had come in contact with a woman through a dating app. The friendship grew between the two, and there was a lot of interaction. Things got worse on both sides. It was alleged on behalf of the 29-year-old woman that she was strangled and raped by the Sri Lankan player.

The public prosecutor, however, dropped the three charges in a Sydney court. According to the police, this Sri Lankan batsman and the 29-year-old woman had contacted each other through a ‘dating app’. After the meeting, they both reached the woman’s Sydney residence, where Gunathilaka allegedly strangulated the woman and raped her.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, “Public prosecutor Hugh Buddin told the court that one charge had been proved while three charges of non-consensual sex had been dropped.”

He played the first match against Namibia, but after that, he was ruled out of the tournament due to injury. Gunathilaka has played eight Tests, 45 ODIs and 46 T20 Internationals for Sri Lanka.
