Match Preview

After a clinical 3-0 ODI series win against West Indies. Team India is ready for the next challenge of the 5-match T20 International series. For this full-time Indian captain, Rohit Sharma and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant are returning to the squad. This will be an important series for both teams to test their bench strength and backups ahead of the T20 World Cup in October this year.

Team India is high on confidence after registering a memorable series win against England earlier this month. Players like Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Dinesh Kartik will look to contribute to India in this series as well.

West Indies, after facing a heartbreak defeat in the ODI series will look to make a comeback in the shortest format of the game.

In February of this year, the two sides’ most recent T20I series was played. India was able to sweep the West Indies, winning 3-0.

Along with Rohit Sharma, the second opener will cause Team India concern. Currently, they have two choices without KL Rahul. Ishan Kishan, the regular backup opener, is one possibility, while Rishabh Pant, the temporary experimental opener, is the other. Both have convincing reasons, but Rishabh Pant, who was chosen as the opener for the England T20I series instead of Ishan Kishan, could be the final choice.
Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav would undoubtedly be taken into consideration for the starting 11. Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, or Ravi Bishnoi should fill the last bowling position.

Ravichandran Ashwin is back in the T20 International squad and will try to secure a spot in the T20 World Cup. The senior spinner’s final T20I appearance came during the home series against New Zealand in November 2021
