2023 ODI World Cup: ‘Zaroor Selfie Loonga, But…’ Shaheen Afridi Bold Statement Before The India vs Pakistan Clash

Before the highly anticipated ODI World Cup 2023 showdown between India and Pakistan, scheduled for October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Pakistan’s fast bowler Shaheen Afridi has expressed his ambitions for the game. He has pledged that he will only take selfies after taking a fifer in the game against India.

Pakistan team has already reached Ahmedabad for the match. The team started with a fielding drill where players practiced to their greatest extent. While entering the boundary, Shaheen Afridi was stopped by the reporters and some fans also asked for selfies. Replying to it, he said,”Zaroor selfie loonga, but five wicket lene ke baad (I will definitely take one, but only after I’ve claimed five wickets)”.

Players such as Babar Azam, Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, Abdullah Shafique, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Hasan Ali, were paired up for fielding drills. Aftab Khan, the fielding coach, supervised the session, employing a small stump as a target for the players to aim at. The intensity of the exercises increased progressively, and the strong camaraderie among the players was evident.

The match will be an interesting one as both India and Pakistan have won their first two matches of this ODI World Cup campaign. India won its first match against Australia by six wickets while the second match by eight wickets against Afghanistan.

Talking about Pakistan, the men in green won their first match against Netherlands by 81 runs and the second match against Sri Lanka by six wickets.
