In the 2023 World Cup final against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, November 19, Virat Kohli was one of those batters who showed an excellent temperament while batting first. However, India lost the match by six wickets and it was an ultimate disappointment to the Indian fans.
Despite Virat Kohli’s commendable half-century contribution of 54 runs, Team India couldn’t set an imposing total as they were asked to bat first in the 2023 World Cup final. They were bundled out for 240 runs. In the end, Australia secured a memorable victory with a remarkable six-wicket win.
After India’s disappointment in the final clash, Virat Kohli’s sister, Bhawna Kohli Dhingra, expressed her emotions with a heartfelt post on Instagram.
She wrote, “Virat you have made us so so proud that there is nothing more that we could ask for love you # Proud forever.”
She also mentioned, “I know we all expected a different result but we are with you TEAM INDIA because you don’t give up on your family when they fall. In fact, that’s the time we support them.”
While batting first India posted a total of 240 runs at the loss of five wickets. However, Australia successfully chased down the target in 43 overs, thanks to an outstanding 137-run innings from opener Travis Head.
