2023 ODI World Cup: ‘Rohit Sharma Is A Great Guy But…’, Shoaib Akhtar Highlights Faults In Hitman’s Captaincy

Former Pakistan bowler Shoaib Akhtar who is known for his bold statements on cricketers and the game, has now come with another sparkling comment. This time Akhtar has talked about the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and has highlighted some major faults in his captaincy.

Akhtar said that Rohit Sharma seems clueless whenever any tough situation comes. At the same time, he said that he burst out with frustration in crunch moments.

Akhtar feels that Rohit Sharma has remarkable batting skills but pointed out that there is room for enhancement in his leadership as a captain. Nevertheless, Akhtar expressed optimism that, given their strong team and the home-field advantage, the Men in Blue have a substantial opportunity to secure victory in the 2023 World Cup.

According to Revsportz, Shoaib Akhtar said, “Rohit Sharma is a great guy. However, he does panic at times during captaincy. I may sound a bit harsh here, but I don’t think he should have taken up India’s captaincy. He is even more talented than Virat Kohli. He is a classical batter. But was he made for captaincy? Does he react well in critical situations? These are the questions that keep coming to my mind.”

He further stated, “You should also be questioning it. But there’s no doubt that he has the ability to win this World Cup. He has a home advantage and a good team,” he added.
