2023 ODI World Cup: Rashid Khan Shows His Gratitude Towards Delhi Crowd After A 69-run Win Against England

Star spinner of Afghanistan, Rashid Khan has shown his gratitude to the fans of Delhi who came with their great love and support for Afghanistan in the match against England.

On Sunday, Afghanistan achieved a remarkable 69-run victory in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. This win marked only their second triumph in ODI World Cup history and their first against a Test-playing nation, upsetting the defending champions.

Rashid played a significant role as one of the main architects of the same, and he concluded the match by dismissing Mark Wood with the final wicket.

While tweeting from his official account, he wrote,”Delhi sach mein dil walon ki hai. A huge thank you to all the fans at the stadium who supported us and kept us going throughout the game. And to all our supporters around the (world emoji), thank you for your love.”

Despite being instructed to bat first, Afghanistan faced the English bowlers to their full extent and Rahmanullah Gurbaz spearheaded the attack with an impressive 80 runs from 57 balls.

Ikram Alikhil’s 58 runs from 66 balls, along with valuable contributions from Rashid and Mujeeb Ur Rahman, allowed the Afghan team to post a competitive total of 284 runs.

While chasing the target, no one except Harry Brook(66) got run and Afghanistan won the match by 69 runs.
