2023 ODI World Cup: Pakistan Or New Zealand? Aakash Chopra Makes His Playoffs Prediction

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra believes that if New Zealand secures a victory in their 2023 World Cup match against Sri Lanka, it would significantly enhance their chances of reaching the semi-finals, potentially surpassing Pakistan in the process.

New Zealand will face Sri Lanka in their next game on November 9 (Thursday). Despite being tied with Pakistan and Afghanistan, the other two teams vied for the final knockout spot. The Kiwis have a better run rate.

While talking to his official YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra has said that if New Zealand wins the match against Pakistan, Babar Azam and the team will eventually be knocked out of the tournament.

He said, “If New Zealand wins, it will become almost impossible for Pakistan. I think it was Mazhar’s stat. Pakistan will have to beat England by 130 runs plus whatever will be the difference with which New Zealand defeats Sri Lanka.”

At the same time, Aakash Chopra also mentioned the current form of the Blackcap. The former cricketer stated, “New Zealand are losing matches continuously. They weren’t dropping even a single match at the start, but once they started losing, they hadn’t won at all. They lost even after scoring 400 runs. They lost via DLS but lost.”
