2023 ODI World Cup: New Zealand’s Sensation Rachin Ravindra Named These 2 Indian Legends As His Inspiring Icon

The sensational all-rounder of New Zealand Rachin Ravindra who won the match single-handedly for his team against England in the opening match of the ODI World Cup 2023, has now praised and named two batters who have inspired him a lot.

The batter played a blistering knock of 123* run of just 96 balls while batting at number three at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. While chasing a target of 283 runs, he came to crease after the departure of Will Young and started stichting a solid partnership with his opener Davon Conway.

The spin-bowling all-rounder wasted no time in adapting his aggressive technique, forming an unbroken partnership of 273 runs with opening batsman Devon Conway. With this the kiwis won the match in 36.2 overs only.

After the match conference, Rachin had a media conversation where he praised the Indian batter Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar for their influence on Kiwi’s career.

The cricketer said,”I think those two are pretty special cricketers. Obviously, I’ve heard a lot of stories and watched a lot of footage and the influence from my parents and the old-school Indian cricketers was pretty cool. Obviously, I idolised Sachin Tendulkar. I think a lot of people did. I think the way he batted and his technique was beautiful to watch.”

With his sensational batting, Rachin Ravindra became the 16th batter to hit a century on his debut in the history of the ODI World Cup.
