2023 ODI World Cup: Injury Scare For Team India, 2 Star Batters Likely To Miss The Clash Against New Zealand

In the 2023 ODI World Cup, the most important clash of the two teams, India and New Zealand holding the first and second positions will happen on Sunday. However, an unexpected thing happened during the net practice as wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kishan was bitten by a bee at the back of his head. He was asked for his well-being to which he responded with a thumbs up.

The star Indian batter Surya Kumar Yadav, a strong contender for his first appearance in the World Cup against New Zealand, experienced significant discomfort on the wrist. He was observed receiving ice treatment to reduce the pain in his injured wrist. This injury occurred when he was hit by a ball during a practice session which was delivered by the specialized throwdown coach, Raghu.

Indian head coach Rahul Dravid also talked before the match about Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav and said, “I mean it is nice to have Ishan and he’s been, like you said rightly, he’s been playing well. He is a left-hander, But again, Surya has also come into some great form against Australia, as we saw him play a couple of fantastic innings. Absolutely fantastic player against spin, as we know; left-arm spin or off spin, or any kind of spin, for that matter. Plus, the role may be for a middle-overs role, so we just have to see which one.”

Apart from Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan, all-rounder Hardik Pandya is already suffering from an ankle injury. He got injured during the clash against Bangladesh which India won by seven wickets on the back of a super hundred by Virat Kohli.
