2023 ODI World Cup: ‘His Legacy Will Be Remember’, Aakash Chopra Praised The Remarkable Captaincy Of Rohit Sharma

Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra has praised Rohit Sharma for his brilliant captaincy in the ongoing ODI World Cup. The former cricketer has said that Rohit Sharma will leave a long-lasting legacy as captain.

On Wednesday, in the first semifinal of the current World Cup at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, India secured a 70-run victory over New Zealand. The home team established a formidable target of 398 runs, and they managed to dismiss the Kiwis for 327. After this win, they got their spot in the final at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Chopra commended Rohit Sharma’s captaincy and emphasized that luck has also been on his side.

“The discussion was that you should win the toss and bat first, and it happened. A good captain is not one who has a lot of skills, but one who is lucky as well, and Rohit has that luck. Devi (goddess) is kind to him, she has put this World Cup against his name.”

The former cricketer further added, “In the last World Cup, she gave you a lot of individual fame, you struck five centuries but didn’t win the World Cup. You were not part of the World Cup team in 2011 but 2023 is your World Cup, Rohit. You are going to leave behind such a legacy as a captain which the world will remember.”
