2023 ODI World Cup: ‘He Will Score A Big Hundred’, S Sreesanth Names The Game Changer For India In The Semifinal Match Against New Zealand

India will face New Zealand in the 1st semifinal of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Meanwhile, the former Indian pacer S Sreesanth has anticipated that captain Rohit Sharma will play a pivotal role for the Indian cricket team as a game-changer at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday.

Sreesanth expresses confidence that Rohit Sharma will smash a century against New Zealand on his home ground and guide the team into the final.

The host nation has secured the top position in the league stage of the 2023 World Cup by winning all nine of their matches. Meanwhile, New Zealand concluded in fourth place with five victories and four defeats.

While having a conversation with Sportskeeda, the former Indian pacer said, “Sharmaji ka beta, Rohit Sharma, he can be the game-changer for India in the semi-final against New Zealand. He has played an excellent knock in the Asia Cup and I feel that tomorrow he will play a captain’s knock at Wankhede – his home ground. He will be ready and the crowd will also back him.”

The 40-year-old further mentioned that Rohit Sharma will be eager to compensate for missing out on the 2011 World Cup held in India.

“In 2011, he was worthy of being in the team but was not selected. That will be at the back of his mind. I feel India will win the semi-final and Rohit will head to Ahmedabad with another hundred against his name. And he will score a big hundred,” Sreesanth, a member of India’s 2011 World Cup-winning squad, predicted”.
